The
nation-wide smoking ban introduced in July 2007 has prompted a lot
of change; its fair to say that there are still sceptics, but
one year on research from the Department of Health suggests that the
ban has been a success:
According to the latest findings, 98 per cent of businesses
believe they are compliant with the new law, 87 per cent of businesses
said they thought implementation had gone well and 81% said the legislation
is a "good idea". 40% of businesses have reported a positive
impact on the company, compared with only 3% reporting a negative
impact.

However, nearly 10 million of us still smoke. While they might see
the reasoning behind the ban, smokers have been left with few options
other than to stand outside buildings.
Although employers are not legally obliged to provide outdoor smoking
areas for their staff, its likely that the 40% of businesses
who reported a positive impact have invested in some sort of shelter.
After all, dont happy staff make for a productive workforce?
Sadly, most shelters on the market arent very robust and have
roofs made from polycarbonate which easily deteriorates; if you bought
one back in 2007 ready for the ban, its a reasonable assumption
that by now itll be looking its age.
Replacing your smoking shelter every few years could be inconvenient
and expensive, so Inside2Outside have come up with the perfect solution.
Weve studied the legislation and designed Puffin, a specially
modified version of our Qube structure which offers:
 |
Strong and long-lasting aluminium frames which will not rust |
| |
|
 |
Roofs made from 100% waterproof tensile fabric able to withstand
the worst of the British climate and last for years |
| |
|
 |
Integral gutter so that water can drain quickly and easily
|
| |
|
 |
Plexiglas half-sides to protect smokers from side winds and
make sure the shelter is non-substantially enclosed to comply
with the ban |
| |
|
 |
Three different roof shapes to match and enhance their surroundings
and existing roof lines |
| |
|
 |
Made-to-measure designs to match the exact needs of your company |
But dont take our word for it...
In March 2008 we installed a smoking shelter at Mount Gould Hospital
in Plymouth, heres what they had to say:
Our Trust is required to provide external smoking shelters for
our users. The Qube provided a high quality, versatile alternative
to the usual "bus shelter" design. Inside2Outside proved
to be a positive and helpful company who were willing to work with
our Estates Department and worked hard to find a solution that suited
our requirements. It was their eagerness to find positive flexible
solutions that impressed me most about Inside2Outside Ltd. I wouldn't
hesitate in using their products again.
